Origin is the dedicated residential division of Wight Aluminium. We have a long history working with residential builders and customers in the Waikato and beyond, delivering some of the region’s most impressive and remarkable projects.
Previously known as Origin Windows, Wight Aluminium purchased the business in 2017, adding a Waikato operating base to complement its already significant manufacturing operation in Whanganui and design and project management offices in Auckland and Wellington.
In 2018 Origin moved to its new, purpose built premises on Arthur Porter Drive, which features a modern, well-appointed Origin Residential showroom alongside the Wight Aluminium factory.

Carl has 30 years construction industry experience, and has been with the Origin Residential team since 2021. Carl’s background includes experience with façade products and cladding types, a solid foundation for guiding clients and builders through the complexities and considerations for making excellent, fit for purpose decisions on windows and doors for residential projects. Carl has a strong interest and knowledge in H1, thermal performance of windows and doors for higher performing homes, and the related technologies, products and strategies available.
Carl leads the Hamilton sales team.

Annette has 25 years’ experience supplying aluminium windows and doors for residential construction projects. Annette is a licenced building practitioner and architectural designer, and works closely with some of the leading residential builders and architects in the region. With a passion for residential design, Annette has a depth of knowledge in delivering window and door solutions that balance building practicalities and constraints with home owner and architects visions for creating fantastic living spaces.

Ngatai has worked exclusively in the aluminium joinery industry, completing an apprenticeship in the early 2000’s, then running his own window installation business, operating in Waikato, BOP and Auckland for ten years before joining Origin to lead Customer Services in mid 2018. Ngatai’s depth of experience liaising between window manufacturer and project builder means he has the technical knowledge to get the job done, well. With a passion for quality and an experienced eye for detail, Ngatai is passionate about ensuring top quality outcomes for Origin customers.

Marie has worked in the Aluminium Joinery Industry for more than 20 years. Her experience spans project estimating, glass cutting, and manufacturing, a unique set of hands-on product development combined with technical knowledge. Marie holds a Diploma of Architectural Technology and takes pride in having a deep knowledge of the functionality and composition of aluminium windows and doors.
